Style Foundations: Jeanne Gray
Creator Jeanne Grey (@thegreylayers) spends her days moving between three worlds that don't leave much room for anything less than fully prepared. She's a pilot. She's a nurse. She's an equestrian — and, in between all of it, a content creator who shares the reality of that balancing act with the people who follow her. Each role demands precision and each one has taught her the same lesson from a different angle: what holds you up starts long before anyone's watching.
"My foundation is sky and saddle, and a bra that never breaks stride."
That's what Style Foundations is really about. Not a big gesture, but the first layer that goes on before anything else does, quietly setting the tone for everything that follows. We asked Jeanne what that actually looks like in her life, on and off camera.
What's the foundation of your craft?
"Curiosity and discipline. I've always been drawn to learning things deeply rather than simply experiencing them. Whether I'm in the cockpit learning how to handle emergencies, on horseback, training my own body or my Koregaia girls, there's a constant pursuit of refinement, more for progress than perfection in many ways."

What's the part that nobody sees?
"As laid back as I may appear, I am simply a war general who loves to giggle. The repetition. The hours where nothing feels particularly remarkable. The studying, the early morning training, the mistakes, the corrections, and the moments where you have to do something again because you didn't quite get it right. Flying has taught me that as well as communicating with my horse. You can't fake preparation in the cockpit, nor can you fake synchronization with a thousand pound animal. The same is true in training and lifting. The progress people eventually see is built in all the moments nobody sees."
How do you set the tone for your day? What are your rituals?
"A good outfit and coffee. I can be having a bad day but everyone, myself included, can immediately forget it when distracted by a strong cup of coffee and an outfit that can carry me through the day."

What's the first layer you put on?
"My Thirdlove. The layer that shows up for me while I show up everywhere else."
What does it set up for the rest of your day?
"It sets up comfort, and comfort gives me confidence. When I feel comfortable in my own skin, I'm able to be fully present in whatever I'm doing. There's something powerful about starting the day in a way that makes you feel most like yourself and completely at ease. And maybe the deeper idea is: confidence doesn't always begin with something bold. Under the good outfit and strong cup of coffee, sometimes it begins with feeling completely at home in yourself."
The Foundation
That's the thing about a foundation. It's rarely the part anyone else sees. It's the layer underneath the uniform, the one that has to hold up whether you're at 30,000 feet, standing in a barn at 5 a.m., or just getting through a Tuesday. For Jeanne, that layer is her Zero Edge Contour Bra: no-fuss, no distractions, built to move exactly when she does.
