#ThirdLoveStories: Andi Teggart

As a company that’s by women, for women, we’re constantly seeking new ways to spotlight stellar females who inspire us. This series is an opportunity to celebrate the ThirdLove community and share their incredible stories.

Meet Andi Teggart, a stay-at-home/work-from-home mom based in Nashville, TN. When she's not taking care of her daughter, Lucy, this grad student is either blogging or managing her digital marketing shop, Lucky Collective. Find out how she finds balance, how she learned to love her body, and more!

What inspired you to do what you're doing now?

I moved from Ohio to San Francisco after graduating college — I had never been there and knew no one, but decided to take a leap for a new adventure! Professionally, I started my career at Edelman Digital where I ran social media and influencer campaigns for brands including PayPal, AMD, PayPal, and Adobe. I worked at a few tech startups and then started to "do my own thing" and start Lucky Collective, so I could have a little more freedom over who I work with and when/how I work. I contracted at Facebook for two years, where I oversaw social media for the Messenger product, while also doing consulting projects and event planning for a few other brands and small businesses!

The last year has been a major transition and new adventure! My daughter Lucy was born in January 2018 and my whole world shifted. We moved from our 600-square-foot apartment in San Francisco's Lower Haight neighborhood to Nashville, where we bought a 100-year-old house in a charming neighborhood.

When do you feel most confident in your skin?

I feel most confident when I'm in a good place mentally and emotionally. It makes me automatically feel more beautiful on the outside, too. Oh, and when I get a full night of sleep! I have been trying to look at myself the way my one-year-old daughter looks at me — even when I'm wearing pajamas, no makeup, and haven't done my hair, she has so much joy and love in her eyes when she looks at me. I am trying to remind myself that I deserve to look at myself with the same love and admiration.

Did you have any insecurities growing up?

Throughout different periods of my life, I’ve been unhappy with my body for not looking the way I wanted or doing what I wanted. I would compare my body with others, critique my body for not being “good enough” and measure my body and self-worth against an unrealistic expectation I set for myself. The process of being pregnant and having a baby really taught me a whole new level of self-love, respect, and admiration for myself and my body.

Who/what has shaped you to be the person you are today?

I'm really fortunate to have a tribe of women who have encouraged, inspired, helped, lifted, and supported me from when I was a little girl until today — my mom, my three little sisters, my aunts, cousin, grandma, several gals I met in high school and college and post-college and in "mom life."

What are your proudest accomplishments?

Being an entrepreneur for three years now. Starting a grad school program while simultaneously juggling work and my new role as a mom. Most of all, I'm proud to be a loving, supportive, and encouraging wife, mother, friend, daughter, and sister.

What's next for you?

Not sure exactly! In the short term, finish building the greenhouse in our backyard and go on weekend trips outside of Nashville this spring! We'd like to have more kids at some point and at some point, would like to live internationally. Professionally, I'd like to keep doing digital marketing consulting work and eventually, teach at the university level.

How do you stay balanced?

Exercising helps me feel my best mentally and physically. Prayer and writing out gratitude lists helps me recognize all the good around me, even on difficult days. Eating healthy, whole foods helps me feel nourished. Spending time outside helps me feel refreshed and rejuvenated, even when it's really cold outside. Being silly and having spontaneous dance parties and singing Lion King songs at the top of my lungs keeps me from taking myself too seriously.

What's your favorite ThirdLove bra and why?

The black 24/7™ Lace Back T-Shirt Bra — wearing it as I type this! It's the perfect blend of comfortable, sexy, and supportive. Obsessed!

Tell us your ThirdLove Story.

I recently stopped breastfeeding after nursing Lucy for just under a year. After not being in my own body for almost two years (being pregnant, having a baby, breastfeeding), now that I'm back to 'normal life,' my boobs are definitely...different. All of my old bras didn't fit correctly and I was sick of wearing bralettes every day. I ordered two TL bras (the 24/7 Lace Back T-Shirt Bra and the 24/7 Classic Contour Plunge Bra) and truly feel like a new person! I feel so much more put together and feel so confident and subtly sexy (underneath by #momuniform leggings and t-shirt combination!).
